The History of First Trust and Savings Bank
Organized as the First National Bank in 1901 by Dr. S. B. Diamond, the bank received its first deposit on November 13, 1902, when Harry F. Young opened a savings account. Five years later, the bank had capital of $25,000 and deposits of $132,828.
In 1911, the banks name was changed to First Trust and Saving Bank. Over the years the bank has grown in size and services. When the bank moved to its present building in 1975, total assets were $10 million.
